Founders Gary and Marylou Stemper were raised in Paso Robles and have been together since their days at
Paso Robles High School. Newly married, they embarked on an adventure of travel with the Department of Defense, but when it
came time to establish roots and start a family, they returned to Paso Robles. ‘Paso Robles is a very special place,
with a spirit of can-do and caring for its fellow man,” says Marylou. Throughout their marriage, the Stemper's have
enjoyed touring international castles, especially England, being that Marylou comes from English ancestry. Thus began the
dream of building a castle. The couple has always loved the wine industry and were involved with other wineries as partners
and growers. The Stemper's formed an LLC with investors, most of which own vineyards.
