Our focus at Roxo Port Cellars is making small quantities of ultra premium Port-style wines. Roxo, meaning purple in Portuguese,
is a partnership between the Steele and Culp families. Port is our obsession and always on the brain at Roxo.
Metodo
Portugues adorns our label and translates to “the Portuguese method.” This is our pledge to making wine using
traditional methods with minimal interference. The fruit for our wine is 100% hand-picked and sourced from esteemed vineyards
in both Paso Robles and the Cienega Valley. Each vineyard was chosen for its location, farming practices and fruit quality.
We’re extremely thankful for fostering solid relationships with our growers and owe the quality of our wines to them.
We appreciate your interest in the Roxo family.

The Carmody McKnight Vineyard rests at an elevation of 1,400 feet deep on the west side of Paso Robles. The array of soils
unique to this vineyard includes limestone, montmorillonite and volcanic intrusion. The ground is so complex here the vineyard
has been the subject of an ongoing “terroir” study by Soil Science and Viticulture students at California Polytechnic
University in San Luis Obispo. Wines from this vineyard display pure varietal character while showing off the soil’s
natural minerality.
